Katie Goodman & Soren Kisiel are the Artistic Directors of the Equinox Theatre
Company. A husband and wife team, they have been directing and teaching together
since 1989. The Equinox Theatre Company produces both professional and youth
theatre here in Bozeman. The Equinox Education Project runs throughout the year,
offering classes for kids in elementary and middle school, adult acting classes,
and after-school Teen Theatre productions. Artistic Directors Katie Goodman & Soren
Kisiel have directed and taught theatre as guest artists at Bozeman, Montana
Schools; Longfellow, Hawthorne, Monforton, Sacajawea, Chief Joseph and Bridger
Alternative.

Katie
and Soren, together with a highly creative staff of experienced performing
arts teachers and guest performers, bring to the camp their energy
and enthusiasm, strong theatrical training, and a devotion to working
with kids in the arts and helping kids to be a creative part of their
community.
Mini-Spots Teacher and
Other Staff:
The Mini-Spots
have one teacher who stays with them all morning while the other staff
rotate through.Other
full-time staff at camp will be versed in many areas of the performing
arts, and have years of experience with kids in elementary and middle school.
In
addition, we will be bringing in guest artists from the Bozeman and
surrounding communities who will bring specialty workshops to camp.
In the past we featured artists including Michael Dixon, the Costume
Designer for the Vigilante Theatre Company and Shakespeare in the
Parks, Sally Hull, a much-loved local tap dance teacher, Jeff Vyck,
head percussionist of the Bozeman symphony, and Tyler Medicine Horse,
a Native American performance artist. These artists gave campers
an in-depth look at some of the specialized areas in the performing
arts, as well a chance for campers to experiment creatively in these
arenas.
Teen
Interns:
The teen interns, fondly referred to as "Gobos," are a vital part of
camp. These interns have been trained in CPR, First Aid, child psychology,
emergency procedures, and the theatrical arts. Many of them are teen
actors from our Teen Theatre productions. They are superb actors and
are great with kids. They will assist in teaching and directing the
campers as well as bringing energy and fun to the daily camp atmosphere.
